"A Beautiful Mind" Competition
This semester, Bilkent University Library organized an art competition, entitled "A Beautiful Mind," as part of the GE250-251 program. The competitors had to select an item from the library collection and create an "image," in any medium and format, inspired by that item and related to libraries. Thirty students submitted images that were carefully scrutinized by three judges, Jülide Akşiyote (COMD), Atıl Kurttekin (GRA) and librarian Güzide Ülker Özen. The three winning competitors were: first prize, Uğur Özgümüştaş (FA); second, Bengi Zeybek (LAW); and third place, Emre Karagözoğlu (EEE). On Friday of last week, the rector, Prof. Abdullah Atalar, was on hand at an award ceremony held at the Library to acknowledge the three winners. We would like to congratulate Uğur, Bengi and Emre, and also to thank all competitors for their excellent and imaginative submissions.
