Levent Onural is Elected IEEE Regional Director

Prof. Levent Onural, who is a faculty member of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, is elected to the position of IEEE Region 8 Director; his term of office will be years 2001-2002. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international, technical and professional organization with members and activities in every part of the world. IEEE is accepted as the most prestigious organization in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, and publishes about 50 technical journals and organizes about 1000 technical conferences each year. Bilkent Loses Barış Eyikan in Trafik Accident

Dr. Barış Eyikan, Assistant Professor, Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, has been killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday, November 17. Philips Lighting Co. arranged a luminaire contest among the university students in Turkey. Nine luminaires designed by students of Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design are awarded.
