COMD Graduate Receives Film Award
The 2nd Annual Istanbul National Short Film Festival came to a close on March 23. This year the festival's central theme was the "Street": a concept meant to include the language of the street, the space of the street, and the people of the street. Among the types of films included in the festival were fictional works, documentaries, and experimental
movies. Cihan Esen (COMD/’02) participated in the festival with a 17-minute film entitled ‘Çizik’. Esen, the film’s director and scriptwriter, says the story centers upon a poor introvert who
reacts to humiliating events by drawing lines in a notebook he carries with him wherever he goes; the ending is a surprise. ‘Çizik’ was awarded best short film along with two other works. Esen received his award at a ceremony on March 23 at the Yeşilcam Cinema.
