News from the Library

The Library is pleased to announce that this week, on Wednesday, November 5, Dr. Emre Özgen, Chair of the Department of Psychology, will deliver the second Library Lunchtime Lecture for this semester, entitled "Language, Learning and Color Perception." The talk will consider the influence of language on the way that human beings perceive color. Dr. Özgen will argue that the language we speak may indeed play a role in the way we perceive colors and how speakers of languages with different color-term repertoires show differences in color discrimination. If you are interested in learning more about this field of psychological research, please come along to the Art Gallery in the Main Campus Library on Wednesday from 12:40 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
