I Know Where You've Been This Week

Hello everyone. Here we go again! I hope you are enjoying your time on campus, walking around and trying to find out where in campus I took these pictures. I guess last week's answer, the platform on the pond between main campus and east campus, was a bit easier for people who travel a lot between the two sides.
That platform on the one side of the pond is made for a project about research on underwater acoustics and directed by Hayrettin Köymen from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The story of the pond itself is even better. It is not a natural pond but was made artificially as the water reserve for Meteksan Company's paper factory when it was first built. However Meteksan has its own system now to reuse water and says there is no need for a reserve anymore.
Wait, the story of the pond has not finished yet. Until last year our pond did not only serve as a water reserve but also a great place to go fishing. That's right; years ago larval fish of several species were put into the pond, and many people even from outside Bilkent fished in it. However, wires surrounding the pond now do not let people fish.
So, be ready for more of the stories about our campus and do not forget to look around. A lunch from Le Piment Rouge or a cup of coffee from Coffee Break is not that far away. You know the deal: Guess where I have been this week, and win the prize!
