Bilkent News Picture Challenge
I Know Where You've Been This Week

BY TULYA KAVAKLIOĞLU (MBG/IV)

Hello everyone! I am so glad to receive e-mails from you saying you are walking around in campus to try to solve our puzzle. Good for you! I have also met some instructors who follow this little corner. Anyway if you are now reading this paragraph that means you are also one of the followers, or at least you will be, and the only thing you have to do to win a coffee or lunch is to find out where the picture below was taken.

I know you are waiting desperately to learn what the last week's answer is so I will not keep you waiting more: It was the M of NANOTAM, the nanotechnology research center located just next to another nanotechnology institute, UNAM. The interesting part here is a symbol of superstitious beliefs, called The Evil Eye, found on the outside of a building that no subjective idea can enter. However there may be more about the Evil Eye than simply being a superstitious symbol. There are now some articles suggesting to some extent that this symbol actually enables the reflection of negative energy back.

This is all for this time. So, take my advice and do not miss these chances because the challenge may soon get more difficult. You know the deal. Kill two birds with one stone: have fun and maybe win a prize.

Prizes will be:
The first two correct answers win coffee from Coffee Break.
The 15th correct answer wins lunch for one from Le Piment Rouge.
