Columbia University Dean Visits Bilkent
Bilkent University had the pleasure of hosting distinguished guests from Columbia University on January 28. Dean Feniosky Peña-Mora of Columbia's School of Engineering and Applied Science and Associate Director Ryan Carmichael visited Bilkent as part of their Europe and Middle East tour. Their itinerary started in BLIS, where they had a chance to meet aspiring future Columbia students. After visiting Rector Abdullah Atalar and President Ali Doğramacı, the guests were guided by Dean of Engineering Levent Onural and Assistant Dean Mustafa Pınar to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Building for a short meeting and a tour. The tour continued with visits to the MRI imaging research center (UMRAM) in the Cyberpark and the nanotechnology research facilities (NANOTAM) on campus. Both parties indicated their willingness to initiate student exchange programs and research collaboration in the near future. They left Bilkent deeply impressed with the high quality of the educational and research programs to continue their tour on to Dubai and Lebanon.
