New Exchange Students Arrive

A new group of exchange students has arrived for spring semester. Bilkent University welcomed exchange and visiting students for the spring semester with an orientation program held from January 24 to 28 by Office of International Exchange Programs. This semester Bilkent is hosting 55 new exchange students from 16 different countries. The orientation program included a visit to Anıtkabir, as well as introductory campus workshops and dinners and lunches displaying traditional Turkish hospitality. The workshops also included "A Foreigner's Perspective," by Paul Kimball, instructor in the Cultures, Civilizations and Ideas Program and "Life on Campus" by ESN Bilkent. Also a course given by Turkish Unit Instructors gave them the opportunity to learn basic communication skills in Turkish.

ESN Bilkent, the Bilkent branch of The Erasmus Student Network, supports exchange students around the world.

In the 2010-2011 academic year, 237 Bilkent University students attended different universities in Europe and the United States as exchange students.
