Bilkent Student’s First Prize Poster Jazzes Up İzmir
Meltem Şahin, 3rd year student from the Department of Graphic Design, has been awarded first prize in the 9th Jazz Poster Competition organized by İzmir Foundation for Culture, Arts, and Education (İKSEV). Five of Şahin's posters have been recognized by İKSEV for creative excellence.
The first prize winner will be the main advertising poster for the 18th İzmir European Jazz Festival, held between March 2 and 16 in İzmir. The İzmir European Jazz Festival is a major musical event and attracts jazz talent from Turkey, Europe, and America.
The annual poster competition draws entries from all over Turkey. Bilkent students were especially well-represented in the finalist category. As well as Meltem Şahin's other four posters, the work of 15 graphic design students, whose names are mentioned below, have been selected for the exhibition that will be held during the festival:
