A Lesson in Sustainable Tourism: Tourism Students Visit Nallıhan

Tourism and Hotel Management students and the Bilkent Tourism Club organized a trip to Nallıhan, in Ankara province, on April 14 as a part of the Tourism Policies and Sustainability course. Students visited the Juliopolis necropolis site, Nallıhan Bird sanctuary and Nallıhan city center. They also heard a presentation about the development of tourism in Nallıhan given by the president of the Nallıhan Tourism Volunteers Association, Mustafa Bektaş. Mr. Bektaş related how, with the help of other organizations and institutions, Nallıhan has become a tourism destination, with emphasis on sustainable tourism.
