Chemistry in All Dimensions, and for Everyone
On October 19-22, 2011, the "Chemistry in All Dimensions" Symposium, a student-organized event, will take place on the campuses of three Ankara universities. Open to area residents of all ages, the four-day symposium is planned to be both educational and enjoyable.
The chemistry student organizations of Bilkent, METU and Hacettepe have joined forces to hold the symposium, with various events scheduled to take place at these universities. They hope to attract a wide audience from the community, and invite everyone who would like to learn more about chemistry to attend the symposium.
The symposium will include not only conferences, discussion sessions, workshops and poster presentations, but also chemistry project competitions for high school students, exhibitions featuring the periodic table and fun experiment demonstrations. At the end of each day, people will have a chance to enjoy chemistry as they watch documentaries and short films or attend mini-concerts.
During the time leading up to the event, Bilkent, METU and Hacettepe chemistry students are holding several pre-events (such as periodicART with LÖSEV and Global Experiments) for secondary and high school students to show them how much fun chemistry can be.
The "Chemistry in All Dimensions" Symposium is an official International Year of Chemistry 2011 event.
