EE Faculty Member Receives TÜBİTAK Young Researchers Grant

Asst. Prof. Ali Kemal Okyay of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has received a 2012 TÜBİTAK National Young Researchers Career Development Program Grant. Dr. Okyay did his undergraduate work in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at METU, and his graduate work at Stanford University, where he received a PhD degree in electrical engineering in 2007. He joined the Bilkent University faculty in 2008. The purpose of TÜBİTAK's career development grant program is to encourage young scientists with PhD degrees who are at the beginning of their scientific careers by supplying project funds for their studies. Other goals of the program include helping scientists who will be the academic leaders of the 21st century optimally maintain their careers as researchers and lecturers; raising the nation's scientific level; and increasing the role of science in the nation's development.
