FBA Seminar Room Named for Prof. Ümit Berkman
On December 27, 2012, the seminar room (MA-330) in the Faculty of Business Administration was named in honor of Prof. Ümit Berkman, founding chair of the Department of Management and longtime faculty member in the Faculty of Business Administration. Prof. Berkman, who passed away in December 2011, had also served as vice rector for administrative and financial affairs and secretary general of the university.
Those who spoke at the ceremony held to mark the dedication of the room included Rector Abdullah Atalar, Provost Metin Heper, Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs Kürşat Aydoğan and Prof. Mehmet Baray, faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering. In their remarks, the speakers commemorated Prof. Berkman, sharing personal memories and expressing their deep sorrow upon the first anniversary of his passing.
