"Plant Your Own Tree" Campaign Brings 200 New Trees to Middle Campus
The Department of Business Information Management student clubs OMIT (Organization of Management and Information Technologies) and BIC (Bilkent Informatics Club) recently organized a campaign called "Plant Your Own Tree," which received an enthusiastic response from students throughout the university.
The students, who planted 200 trees in the Middle Campus area, were following the request of Bilkent's founder, the late Professor İhsan Doğramacı, that members of the university community "plant a tree on the Bilkent campus for each day," contributing to the afforestation of the campus landscape. BIM students were very happy to initiate this campaign and do their part to make Bilkent, already an environment-friendly university, even greener.
