IAED Students Win Design Competition for Museums
Cemre Naz Kutluata and Ceren Pektaş, students in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, have received first prize in the recent Design Competition for Museums (Müzeler için Tasarım Yarışması).
The competition, which was open to all design students in Turkey, was organized by BKG (Bilkent Kültür Girişimi). BKG's mission is to protect Turkey's cultural heritage while helping to create a global image consistent with the country's historical and cultural wealth.
The students' prize-winning project was a design for a memory stick (which can also be used as a wristband) on which information about Turkey has been uploaded in advance. When a user runs the memory stick, he/she can access this information and is then able to use the device to store additional information.
The award ceremony for the competition took place October 2 in Topkapı Palace.
