Bilkent Professors Elected TÜBA Members

Prof. Bilal Tanatar
Two members of the Department of Physics have been
inducted into the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA). In the June
2001 general assembly of the Academy, Prof. Bilal Tanatar and
Assistant Prof. Ahmet Oral were elected as Regular and Associate
members, respectively....
Bilkent MATH Students Win
Awards
Two students, Kostyantin Zheltukhin (a graduate
student), and Kazım Büyükboduk (MATH/IV), received the "Orhan
Alisbah Fellowhip" award on October 10, at the Department of
Mathematics award ceremony....

Honorary Doctorate
Halil İnalcık has recently received his seventh
honorary doctorate “Doctor Honoris Causa,” presented to him by
Rector Bioltchev from the University of Sofia, St. Kliment
Ochridski. His previous honorary doctorates are from the University
of Athens, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of
Bucharest, Uludağ University, Boğaziçi University and Selçuk
University, three of which were awarded to him when on duty at
Bilkent....
