Library Art Gallery to Show Basri Erdem
The artwork of Prof. Basri Erdem will be hosted at an exhibition at the library's art gallery. The exhibition will feature samples of his painted works, taking the viewers on an aesthetic journey through his use of long strokes and intricate use of color.
Erdem received artistic instruction from the Department of Painting at İstanbul's Atatürk Education Institute, which continues today under the auspices of Marmara University, graduating in 1970. In 1974, he was appointed teacher of graphic design at his alma mater, eventually becoming a professor. He is currently a lecturer at Işık University's Faculty of Fine Arts.
He has opened more than 25 solo exhibitions and his work has featured in more than 100 others, both in Turkey and abroad. The exhibition will open on April 7 with a cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m. The exhibition from will run from April 7 until May 4 in the Library Art Gallery.
