Introductory Meeting on the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme

An introductory meeting on the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme will be held on Monday, December 12, in FFB-05, FADA. At the meeting, detailed information regarding the application procedure for the 2012-2013 academic year Monnet Scholarships will be presented.

The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme started in 1989 with an agreement between the Republic of Turkey and the European Commission, in response to the need for individuals with in-depth knowledge about the EU acquis communitaire. Funded by the European Union, this is a program specific to Turkey.

These scholarships provide educational opportunities in EU member countries for public employees, private sector representatives, academics, university students and members of civil society organizations. The program contributes to the training of experts in EU affairs from various sectors of society in Turkey.

A Monnet Scholar can attend a university or similar institution in a master's degree or research program in an EU member state for a period of 3 to 12 months. During the 20 years that the scholarships have been awarded, nearly 1,200 individuals have benefited from the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme.
