Roundtable Meeting Reviews 20 Years of Kazakhstan's Independence
On November 22, the Bilkent University Center for Russian Studies and the Department of International Relations hosted a roundtable meeting focused on the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the country's relations with Turkey.
Kazakhstan's ambassador to Ankara, His Excellency Canseyit Tüymebayev, gave the opening speech, which analyzed 20 years of Turkish-Kazakh relations. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar of the Department of International Relations moderated the roundtable.
Presentations were made by Dr. Konuralp Ercilasun of Gazi University, Dr. Meryem Hakim of İzmir University, Dr. Toğrul İsmail of the Economy and Technology University, Hasan Kanbolat of the Middle East Strategic Research Center, Dr. Anar Somuncuoğlu of Hacettepe University, Dr. Ömer Kocaman of the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency and Dr. Taşansu Türker of Ankara University. The meeting was attended by a number of graduate students from various Bilkent University departments.
