New Exhibition Opens at Bilkent Art Gallery
New exhibition of paintings by Yüksel Söylemez opened yesterday, February 20, at the Library Art Gallery. Besides being a painter and poet, Mr. Söylemez is well-known as a former diplomat. Having graduated from İstanbul University with a degree in law, he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1957. He held postings in countries including England, India, Thailand, the US and also Croatia, where he served as Turkey's first ambassador. After retiring from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Söylemez served as the Turkish Trade Office representative and CEO in Taipei, ROC. He also joined the Turkish Foreign Policy Institute as co-chairman. Those who would like to see the exhibition can visit the Library Art Gallery on weekdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. through March 3.
