Interval Training Attracts Many Participants
The Physical Education and Sports Center held its most recent interval training program at the Student Dormitories Sports Hall on Tuesday, March 6. Despite this being the day after an extremely cold week, a group of 120 highly motivated students and personnel participated in the session and enjoyed exercising to music for an hour and a half.
This energetic group of people gave Aerobics Coordinator Ahsen Küçükdurmaz the opportunity to combine a variety of exercises in a new way. Three activity stations were provided: one for abdominal work, the second for step exercise and the third for working out with small dumbbells. Participants spent two minutes at each station and repeated the full workout three times, so that they completed three sets. Between the sets, a high-energy Tae-bo session featured movement accompanied by music.
Everyone agreed that the experience of group exercise and the new movements they learned were a lot of fun. The program also provided students with the opportunity to become acquainted with the sports trainers and the other programs organized at Sports Center facilities.
