Turn Off the Lights for Our Planet! Earth Hour 2012
Every year, on the last Saturday in March, lights all over the planet are turned off for Earth Hour. Earth Hour was observed at our university last year, and will be again this year, on Saturday, March 31 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Turning off the lights for an hour draws attention to climate change. But Earth Hour is also a time to ask ourselves: to help counter the negative environmental trends that are damaging our planet, what else can we change in the way we live?
During Earth Hour 2012, millions of people all over the world will turn off their lights for an hour. Will you be one of them? By participating in Earth Hour, you can unite with others to take a first step toward change.
