Bilkent Celebrates Library Week
Every year, during the last week of March, Turkey celebrates Library Week to recognize the important role of libraries and librarians in our daily and professional lives. This year, to mark Library Week, Bilkent Library is holding a number of cultural and fun activities open to all members of the university community.
The first activity took place on Monday, March 26, as part of the nationwide "Book Reading Event" that opened the 48th Library Week in Turkey. Bilkent Library organized a communal outdoor book reading, with students, faculty members, librarians and other Bilkent staff members bringing their own books to read together during the noon hour in the grass area next to the Library.
If you missed this activity, don't worry: there are many more events still to come. On Tuesday, March 27, Prof. Barbaros Tansel (IE) will hold a "Latin American Dance Workshop" at 2-3:30 p.m. in the Library Art Gallery, open to experienced dancers and beginners alike.
