April Brings International Music Festival to Ankara

A wonderful musical event will take place in Ankara next month. The 29th Ankara International Music Festival, to be held April 5-28, will host 700 artists from 14 countries.
The event will present 23 days of musical entertainment, with styles and genres ranging from Arabian to a capella, from classical to contemporary and popular. The festival will feature not only music but dance as well, with a performance by Rojas y Rodriguez Brothers and their 20-member flamenco dance ensemble.
Of special interest to the Bilkent community will be a unique evening of entertainment on Saturday, April 21 at 8:30 p.m., when the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra will play music from film soundtracks to accompany a performance of the Averbukh Ice Ballet at the ATO Congresium.
The opening concert will be on April 5, with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marek Pijarowski and joined by soloist Suna Kan.
