International Art Fair Features COMD Film "Visions"
Department of Communication and Design students and graduates were among the participants in the Artbosphorus International Contemporary Art Fair, which was held at the Haliç Congress Center in İstanbul March 15-18.
At this, the fifth Artbosphorus Fair, 35 national and international art galleries were represented, with 300 individual artists, critics, collectors, curators and artistic professionals also participating. Among the primary purposes of the fair were to disseminate art to a larger audience, and to showcase the city of Istanbul while presenting contemporary Turkish art to the entire world.
One-minute films by Bilkent COMD students and graduates were screened at the fair under the curation of instructor Yusuf Akçura. The Artbosphorus 2012 catalog, titled "Çizgiler-Formlar-Hayaller" (Lines-Forms-Dreams), devoted two pages to still photos from the Bilkent filmmakers' videos and also thanked Bilkent students and instructors Akçura and Ufuk Önen for their contributions on the acknowledgements page.
