BILWIC Seeks Executive Board Candidates

The Bilkent University ACM-Women in Computing student chapter and club (BILWIC) is looking for candidates to serve on its new executive board for the 2012-2013 academic year. BILWIC is a student organization established in 2005 as the first international student chapter of ACM-W (Association for Computing Machinery - Women in Computing) and as a student club at Bilkent University.

In parallel with ACM-W's goal of "celebrating, informing and supporting women in computing," BILWIC's aim is to improve the learning and working environments for female students in computing. In order to assist and support these students, BILWIC organizes activities designed to help mentor them and provide them with role models. These include seminars and conferences that give students contact with women who have successful careers in computing in academia or business. Additionally, BILWIC takes part in teaching and supporting the use of technology at Bilkent University.

In order to get ready for the next academic year and promote the club during orientation, BILWIC has decided to establish its new team in advance and is inviting students from all departments to participate in the club's management and support club activities.
