Prof. Erten's Long Tenure Celebrated
Prof. Hasan Erten has completed his long tenure as dean of the Faculty of Science. Together with their closest colleagues, friends, administrative assistants and students, Professor Erten and his wife Jale Erten, M.D. (manager of the East Campus Health Center), celebrated his return to an academic life centered on teaching and research at an event held in the atrium of the Faculty of Science B-block last Thursday. 
Prof. Metin Gürses of the Department of Mathematics shared his memories of the past 20 years and also gave an overview of the achievements of the Faculty of Science. Then, Rector Prof. Abdullah Atalar paid tribute to Prof. Erten's accomplishments and thanked him for his exemplary services to Bilkent since the very early days of the university. Lastly, Professor Erten came to the podium and thanked his colleagues, university administrators and students.
Prof. Tayfun Özçelik will take over the position as the new dean of the Faculty of Science.
