On Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m., nearly 140 Bilkenters of all ages -- runners, joggers and walkers -- gathered in front of the East Sports Hall. After running 3.5 km, they finished the race at the Main Sports Hall. An awards ceremony then took place in the Main Sports Hall, where the winners received trophies. Congratulations to all those who took part in the event.
Spring Fest is coming to campus to celebrate the end of the semester and welcome the summer holiday. From May 7 to May 12, activities will be held on the Main Alley, at the Marmara Restaurant, in the Main Campus Festival Area and at the Odeon.

Notes:
1. Portable toilets will be available in the Main Campus Spring Fest Area May 11 and 12.
2. Pitching tents on the grass will not be allowed for security and health reasons.
3. Pets will not be allowed in the Spring Fest Area.
4. As parking is always a problem, students are advised to use public transportation rather than bringing their cars to campus (especially on May 11 and 12).
5. For security reasons, entrance to the campus will be restricted throughout Spring Fest exclusively to those holding Bilkent-issued IDs.
During the past months, the Marketing and Advertising Club (MAD) conducted an online survey open to all students at Bilkent. "Ad Awards 2011" (Reklam Ödülleri 2011) was a market research project aimed at understanding what type of television commercials piqued Bilkenters' interest in 2011.
The online survey consisted of 10 categories, with three television commercials nominated in each (except "Viral Commercial," with five nominees). Following the voting, results were finalized, and the award ceremony took place at C-Block Auditorium on Thursday, April 26.

Gökhan Moral, an engineer at the Bilkent Communications and Spectrum Management Research Center, has been chosen by XDA Developers as an "Elite Recognized Developer" for his contributions to mobile device development.
XDA Developers, which describes itself as the "largest community for smartphone hacks and development of apps," is a mobile software development community of over 4 million users worldwide. The XDA site's main purpose is discussion, troubleshooting and development of Android, Windows, WebOS and Bada phones.
XDA Developers designated Mr. Moral as an XDA Elite Recognized Developer as per the recent announcement of the expansion of their Recognized Developer program. He is thus among a very small group of the best, brightest, most active and most influential developers on XDA.
