Social Media Days Draws Large Audience
Social Media Days, organized by the Bilkent University IEEE Student Branch's Computer Society subcommittee, took place at Bilkent last Wednesday and Thursday, April 25-26. The event, focusing on the importance and power of the social media, hosted Rector Abdullah Atalar and various leaders from the sector.
On Wednesday, Prof. Atalar delivered an entertaining presentation on social media. He began by discussing the advent of the computer and the Internet, and then shared his own experiences and ideas on social media with Bilkent students, who packed the hall for the presentation.
On Wednesday evening, the "Importance of Social Media" was discussed by Ezgi Tüzün, a founding partner of Bobiler.org. She touched on a number of subjects, including her experiences in establishing a social media outlet. And finally, on Thursday evening, the Zaytung Team shared with the Bilkent community their thoughts and ideas regarding innovations in the social media.
Since the event attracted a large audience, the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch is planning to hold this activity annually to offer Bilkent students the opportunity to interact with professionals from the social media.
