As part of the 44th Tübitak Secondary School Students Research Project Competition (44. Tübitak Ortaöğretim Öğrencileri Araştırma Projeleri Yarışması), three BELS twelfth-grade students have had their extended essays accepted for display at the competition's semifinal exhibition at Erzurum Atatürk University.

Two of the students' projects were in the area of mathematics. Muhammet Orhun Şahin's research concerned "Comparison of the Cryptographic Methods Used in Digital Signs," while Ali Gürkaynak conducted an "Analysis of the Mathematical Methods Used in GPS Systems." Miraç Selcen Özkal did her research in the area of biology, on the topic of "Dangerous Cleaning Methods in the Microworld."

The semifinals will be held March 25-29 in Erzurum.
