Turn Off the Lights for Our Planet! Earth Hour 2013

Every year, at the end of March, lights all over the planet are turned off for Earth Hour. Thanks in part to the efforts of the Bilkent Astronomy Society and the Bilkent Environment and Ecology Society, Earth Hour has been observed at our university for the last two years, and will be again this year, on Saturday, March 23 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Turning off the lights for an hour draws attention to climate change. But Earth Hour is also a time to ask ourselves: to help counter the negative environmental trends that are damaging our planet, what else can we change in the way we live?

During Earth Hour 2013, millions of people all over the world will turn off their lights for an hour. Will you be one of them? By participating in Earth Hour, you can unite with others to take a first step toward change.

Date: Saturday, March 23

Time: 8:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Place: Everywhere!
