Graduate Students Win the Unilever Idea Trophy 2002
MBA students Yalçın İlik, Hülya Gündoğan and Economics graduate student Fatma Gül Biçer have won the IdeaTrophy challenge, which was held for the second time in Istanbul. At this annual event, teams compete on the basis of marketing ideas for a particular brand of Unilever (this year, for Algida).
Team ideas are evaluated and, if judged favorably, the teams are invited to develop their proposals into a business plan. This year, 694 teams with over 1600 ideas applied to the highly competitive IdeaTrophy competition, which was composed of several challenging stages. The final 9 teams were invited to a camp from November 24-26 in Istanbul. During the camp session, teams were engaged in sales and marketing workshops presented by Unilever and Algida professionals.
The final business plans, as prepared by the groups, were presented to a jury consisting of Unilever and Algida executives. The projects were designed to enable the teams to combine their members’ creativity, analytical skills and theoretical knowledge.
