“I recommend albums that are not listened in a column that is not read by the most of the people" (based on Kaybedenler Kulübü - Burak Şahin, April 2011)

When Kaan Çaydamlı and Mete Avunduk started to their radio show, they never imagined that Kaybedenler Kulübü would be successful enough to be featured in a movie. These two men did not make a special effort to make their show popular, but their sincerity caught listeners' attention.

Publisher Kaan Çaydamlı and bar owner Mete Avunduk struck up a casual conversation about their lives, and that became the basis of Kaybedenler Kulübü. Sometimes, they were controversial, sometimes they talked about sex, and sometimes they broke some taboos. Even people who were against them or hated them kept listening to the show because of their genuine warmth.

The movie led me to think about loneliness. Having many people around you does not mean that you have many good friends. Success can be lonely. According to Mete: "What is winning? Imagine that you are the king Antonius and you come to Paris. There are thousands of people beneath you, but you are the only one that is standing at the top of the Eiffel Tower."

Why do I write about this? Because Kaybedenler Kulübü forces us to think about loneliness. I do not mention the soundtrack album so much. As I said before "I recommend albums that are not listened in column that is not read by the most of the people," and f you are one of the readers of this column you will absolutely go and buy the soundtrack album or you have already bought it. The only question is in my head that "Who is Erol Egemen?"
