Ersel Aydınlı Appointed Director of Fulbright Commission
As of the start of this academic year, Associate Professor Ersel Aydınlı resigned as chair of the Department of International Relations in order to assume the position of executive director of the Turkish Fulbright Commission. The Turkish Fulbright Commission is an organization sponsored jointly by the United States and Turkish governments and has been distributing its highly prestigious scholarships for over 60 years. With an annual budget of more than US$5 million, the Commission provides both guidance to Turkish citizens interested in studying or doing research in the United States as well as funding for Turkish and American students, scholars, researchers, and professionals through educational and cultural exchange programs. Dr. Aydınlı remains a full-time member of the Bilkent Department of International Relations and can also be contacted for more information through the departmental secretary.
