The Interval Training Program is held twice a year, once in autumn and spring semesters. The program aims to help Bilkenters take a break from the sports courses they already attend and encourage them to do something different in terms of staying motivated. The program also provides students with the opportunity to become acquainted with the sports trainers and the Main Sports Center itself.
This program is peculiar to Bilkent University and has been held for 16 years. By combining a wide range of different programs in one organization, Program Coordinator Ahsen Küçükdurmaz has come up with a unique exercise. The important point is to present an opportunity for students to pick up the habit of leading a healthy life by introducing them to different physically challenging programs. These sports activities are used as a means to meet these aims. There were a total of 272 participants in this special program.
Lets take a look at some interviews with our fellow Bilkenters:
"With the help of interval training, I have completed an enjoyable activity with my friends"
(Anıl Ak - ECON/II).
"That these activities are organized in the framework of GE 250 program has been much useful for us. I would like to thank Bilkent University for presenting us this kind of opportunity"
(Yusuf Yenilmez - ECON/III).
"It would be much better if these kinds of programs were held more frequently"
(Aslı Büyükberber - MAN/IV).
"We both had fun and did some sports; that is the point"
(Merve Kaçar - TRIN/IV).
"I think that this program is a successful one because it encourages people to do sports. It is a very useful activity in terms of helping us do some exercise and meet new people"
(Nurulhude Baykal - Yonca Bakır - ELIT/IV).
