UNICEF Volunteers Count 2011 Fundraising Sale a Notable Success

On December 12-15, the UNICEF Volunteers Committee held a flea market in Dormitory 69 to raise funds for UNICEF. Committee members were gratified by the community's response to the event as the participation of everyone involved helped make this year's sale a resounding success.

Volunteers sold not only donations -- lightly used and new clothing, electrical appliances and decorative items -- but also themselves prepared and provided for sale various items, from cookies, honey, jam and cakes to jewelry, magazines and books. Their efforts were rewarded by the great interest the sale attracted. Smiles shone from many faces, as everyone realized the proceeds would go to make a difference in the lives of children they had never met.
