14th Career Fair Hosts 45 Firms and 2,130 Visitors
BY BESTE HASKAN (ELIT/IV)
On March 15, the 14th Career Fair was held at Bilkent University, with major corporations and organizations including Aselsan, Arçelik, Deloitte, Bosch, Meteksan, Koç Holding, Eti, PWC, Vestel, Hilton and Dedeman participating.
The Career Fair is held annually by the Bilkent Career Center. Along with providing Bilkenters access to numerous job and internship opportunities, the event introduces students to the business world even before they graduate.
This year's fair attracted many students who wished to make contact with companies they aspire to work for in the future. During the course of the event, the participating organizations accepted student resumes.
Bilkent News asked Bilkenters attending the fair what they thought and whether they had further expectations from the event.
Gökhan Akman (ECON): It's sensible to bring government-owned corporations and private companies together, since the two categories appeal to different students. Therefore, I'm pleased with the fair and have applied to several companies myself.
Hakan Kalaycı (IE): I think these kinds of events are quite helpful for both students and new graduates; I hope the outcome will be beneficial for all.
Ayşegül Güney (AMER): The fair is very useful for students in some departments, but less so for others.
Müge Dağ (IE): I would like to see the range of companies represented at the fair expanded to give us additional internship opportunities to apply for.
Buket Erol (TRIN): I would like to thank those who organized this fair for Bilkent students, although I would like to see more opportunities for our department.
