New Media Discussed at Media Society Lecture
Last week, the Bilkent Media Society held a meeting on the subject of "New Media," with Başkent University Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Chair Mutlu Binark as the speaker. Prof. Binark is a recognized authority in this emerging branch of study.
After beginning the lecture by introducing her work on the topic, Prof. Binark defined what new media are, conceptualizing the term and giving an overview of what it comprises. She also differentiated between traditional and new media.
At the end of her presentation, Prof. Binark answered questions and offered some suggestions and ideas for students who are interested in the academic study of new media.
