Cuma Ocaklı at the Library Art Gallery

The library art gallery opened its doors last Monday for the famous Turkish painter, Cuma Ocaklı. His exhibition features his recent works, mainly mid-scale canvases and watercolors.

Ocaklı aims to share the excitement, passion, and resilience of daily life with the viewer through his favorite subject matter, abstractly improvised figures, which reflect the variety in humans. Also, his watercolor artworks are thematically based in nature, mostly plant life of any kind.

Ocaklı was born in Siverek in 1947 and graduated from Marmara University Department of Fine Arts in 1985. He received his Efficiency in Art from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts and became professor at the same university in 1996. Ocaklı continued his academic studies as the chair of the Painting Department in the same faculty until his retirement in 2002. The artist has opened over fifty exhibitions, and he continues his artworks in his studio at Urla.

Ocaklı's exhibition will hang until April 6 and you can visit the library art gallery everyday between 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. except Sundays.
