Last week's picture was from the blocks next to the Electrical and Electronics Engineering building, below the parking lot. As we all know, this year a new department has opened in the Engineering Faculty, the Mechanical Engineering Department. Prof. Adnan Akay, who had been the director of mechanical, materials, and constructional engineering research conducted at the American National Science Foundation for 3 years, became the head of this new department. In one interview, he said he 
understands engineering as an "element filling the gaps between human society and nature, and a successful engineer should both have knowledge in positive sciences and know the needs of the world." That is how biology classes became a must course in this department. Maybe biology will become an obligatory course in all faculties in the coming years, to show the needs of the world.
So, do not forget to walk more and pay attention to the details. These are all you need to do to be a good observer and become aware of your surroundings.
