Bilkent Law Students Participate in International Competition
The Moot Court Team of the Bilkent University Faculty of Law placed 9th out of 48 teams at the Belgrade International Pre-Moot, which took place March 15-18. A "moot court" or "moot" is a simulated court proceeding for which law students write memoranda and present oral arguments. The Belgrade event provides preparation for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held annually in Vienna.
Coached by Prof. Bilgin Tiryakioğlu, Asst. Prof. Aslı Elif Gürbüz Usluel and Dila Okyar, and comprised of senior law students Eda Akın, Nazlı Gürdal and Güley Bor and junior law student Ahmet Bahadır Erkan, the team has been working since October on drafting memoranda for an international commercial dispute subject to arbitration.
