Bilkent Energy Society
In the 2012-2013 fall semester, a new student organization, the Bilkent Energy Society, started its efforts to heighten awareness of one of the most important sectors in today's world. The energy industry is noteworthy in that it is associated with a number of disciplines such as engineering, economics, politics and law. The society therefore aims to expand its network by attracting members from various departments at the university.
The Energy Society's mission is to better inform Bilkenters about the energy sector by organizing events focused on topics related to the industry, including the issue of sustainable growth in energy. During the fall semester, seminars on "World Energy Politics" and "Solar Energy" were held.
This semester, the society has planned seminars on "Energy Efficiency," to take place April 2, and "The Outlook for Energy in Turkey," scheduled for April 16. In addition, the members have also worked on putting together a workshop on "The Electricity Market in Turkey" for those who are curious about energy trading.
The Bilkent Energy Society invites all students who are interested in this rapidly developing sector of the global economy to join their organization and participate in its activities.
