Asst. Prof. Dilek Cindoğlu Elected to ISA Executive Committee
Asst. Prof. Dilek Cindoğlu of the Department of Political Science has been elected to the executive board of the International Sociological Association (ISA) for 2010-2014.
The ISA is a non-profit association for scientific purposes in sociology and social sciences. Founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO, ISA represents sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches, or ideological opinion. The ISA exists to advance sociological knowledge throughout the world. Its members come from 167 countries.
The ISA is a member of the International Social Science Council and enjoys a status of the Non-Governmental Organization in formal associate relations with UNESCO, as well as special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
