Opportunity Out of Tragedy
When Hayati Çam, a ‘05 CS graduate, lost his life in a tragic car accident in Ankara in May 2009, family and friends were devastated. The news shocked everyone who knew the lively 26-year-old.
Çam graduated from İzmir Yamanlar Science High School in 2001 and entered Bilkent Department of Computer Engineering as an undergraduate in September 2001. In 2005, he successfully graduated from the department and decided to pursue his Master’s again in the same department. He obtained his M.S. in 2008.
In honor of his diligence in academic study, his friends have decided to help other computer engineering students achieve their educational goals. The Hayati Çam Scholarship is open to all Bilkent Computer Engineering undergraduate students. Eligibility includes academic merit and demonstrated need for financial aid.
